Hey guy's, I'll start off by saying that I use to be in the military for a while, and it was difficult to add the muscle that I wanted to. I have been training for 3 years and have yet to each my goals. Seems that 170 Lbs. is as heavy as I can get. Would love pointers and information from all of you. I have heard amazing things about this training ( have actually been doing it for a few months) but still can't get over 170. Problem is, is that I'm going to have to start doing cardio soon to prepare for a federal academy that I will be attending. Would love to be in cardio shape as well as pack some lean muscle on. HELP!
Mike

Welcome man ;D
You gotta eat and eat to gain the weight! A good diet and a solid P/RR/S routine will do the trick. People here are awesome and will help you as much as they can. Enjoy

Mike Mike, First off, welcome to the board! Secondly, post your diet. Most of what you are describing can likely be attributed to that.

Welcome to the board!
Getting into cardio shape AND packing on muscle are two very different physiological tasks, and thus it will be very hard to accomplish both at once. You are going to have to be realistic in your goals. The best you can do is maintain your muscle while doing all that cardio, and to do this you will need ample clean calories from complete protein, carbs and healthy fats each day.

Mike First, thank you for your service to this country. Second, WELCOME to the boards. As for your gaols, it can be tough to gain muscle while performing cardio. That said, use the P/RR/S training templete, eat as clean as you are able and simpley lift. Maybe throw a couple of weeks of FD/FS in there. That is when my body really started to respond. Lastly, I am familiar with most federal training academy's. Believe me, if you can handle the physical training in the military, you can handle it there too. I wouldn't over think it. Best of luck to you. Follow the P/RR/S templete and GROW!!!

WELCOME! It's great to have members of our military here on the board, in fact it's an HONOR to have you!
As most have touched on, it will very hard to GAIN a significant amount of muscle, while training to get into great cardio shape.
It looks like you're doing some good things diet wise. However, do you have any ideas what your current macronutrient and caloric breakdown are for the whole day?
