Hey everyone,
Im brand new to the site, just saw it today. I was reading Ironman and saw the article with Eric Broser and decided to check it out, i really think changing up my routine will give me a great head start to making the changes i really want! Heres a bit of background info, i really dont have alot of knowledge in lifting or nutrition, ive been trying to work with what i know and slowly learn.
This is my little background.
I am currently 22 and in my third year of University, around a year and a half ago i was about 230 lbs, zero zero definition, i had just actually let myself go. I decided after awhile that i was going to be serious about changing the way i look and got dedicated to going to the gym, at first usually 1 day on 1 day off 1 day on two days off etc etc. I changed the way i ate and ended up at around 180lbs in only about 6 or 7 months. At that point i had torn my acl, meniscus and mcl (two years previous) snowboaridng and ended up needing to get it fixed through surgery, i lost a lot more weight after that and ended up at around 160. This brings me to this past september, when i applied to represent my uni at a business school in Paris and got accepted, and found out gyms in Paris are VERY hard to come by haha. Long story short, i lost even more, and was down to about 145lbs. Quite small for my 6'0 height and my previous size of 230 lbs.
At this point i realized it was unhealthy and i needed to again make some serious changes, i lost so much muscle that it was actually appalling and my weights had taken a massive dive. I got back on weights and started also taking Mammoth 2500 weight gainer protein and started bringing my weight back up, only at this point to around 150-151 but i have kept diligent track of my weights, reps and what exercises im doing. For instance, my bench press has gone from being 70 + whatever th ebar is in january, to 120 plus the bar now. It is obvious to me that i have been on a great track and i am making good headway, my shoulders are much bigger, my chest is looking great, and my abs are sloowwely coming in nicely. But i really am serious about keeping going. I am now also taking Glutamine with my protein after workouts and with orange or grapefruit juice at night.
How does this sort of stuff sound? I can tell you my usual workout as well. Like i said, i really dont have much knowledge of this kind of stuff, and ive just had to feel my way through my work.
Aswell, can anyone lead me to some good articles about structuring my PRRS workout?
Thanks a lot in advance, any kind of advice you all have would be MORE than welcome, ask whatever questions you wanna know to! Im kind of excited about finally getting on a forum to get some good info to really help my progress!
Thanks,
Sean
