Since I've never done a show before and probly never will... or at least for the time being. I've always found the contest prep process most interesting (and brutal). Its amazing to see the transformation the body can make and really bring out the best in some. And in the one's that Eric works with, EVERYONE. But my question is this... after your show, and lets say you don't go out and binge eat everything in sight, but you do splurge a little... how long does that contest prep body stay with you? Weeks, months? You stay in the gym, keep up with your training and cardio... what would be the time before you lose that showcase body? I'd love to get multiple answers on this from everyone who's done a show as everyone probly does something different in the weeks after their shows etc... with different time-lines etc... Just kinda wanted to get a heads up in this dept. Thanks guys! [glow=red,2,300]T[/glow]

Well, since I recently did my show, I can answer for me.... I did splurge a little (and still do every once, but not often) after my show. And I am keeping up with my training and cardio (except not to the cardio level as pre-contest). I also started using EFX supps exclusively and I must say I am within about 7-10 pounds of where my contest weight was. My vascularity is off the charts, I still have decent cuts throughout my arms, chest, abs and even my quads. Hell I actually see vascularity through my legs as well. I even think I am doing a little bit of growing in the process. Now, you ask how long you keep the showcase physique? It all depends on how you treat post-contest. ANd it depends on what you call showcase? You aren't going to stay as shredded as you were at your show; it simply isn't healthy to stay that way because of how you got there. But you certainly can keep the lean physique you worked so hard for. The trick with all of this is, if you are trying to add muscle post-contest, you MUST do it gradually or else you will lose your showcase physique. That's my long-ass-winded answer to your ever-so-simple question. LOL

I understand that you'll never keep that stage body like the day of the contest for weeks after, but you certainly can keep lean and pretty well defined. I guess I was trying to see how everyones body reacts to POST contest dieting and training. I really want to get my BF% in the single digits and that pretty much means a contest like prep. But to keep it there is a lot more work and thats what this thread is kinda for. To see what everyone is doing to keep themselves "there." Did that makes sense? Thank you for responding tho bro... I appreciate it greatly! [glow=red,2,300]T[/glow]

Here is the key:
Once you have gotten your body VERY LEAN, you can actually STAY very lean with much less effort than it took to first get there. In other words, as long as you do not overindulge after a show, you can eat MORE clean food and do LESS cardio and still stay rather ripped.

Let me get my stopwatch out. I can tell you to the second how long it takes to ruin a physique.
As long as it takes to get to IHOP and order a Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity! Just kidding! I think the month after a show is harder than the entire prep. You definitely need to keep some structure to your diet, or you will get lost. Very hard for me to find balance...but it will be found!

For me, at my STAGE weight 111-115 pds, I look like a figure athlete.
At my off season weight ( Coach has me gaining weight before next prep...to get up to 122-123 pds) ) I look like just a Fitness model type.....looks good, but more suited for magazine work than a contest stage.
Does that make sense?
In my case I was in prep mode for 6 months with 3 consecutive show's....I did allow myself treat's,post contest, things that I could not have on prep. Not just crap, but things like corn on the cob, fresh strawberrie's, and honey.
