It is with tremendous pride and happiness that I make this announcement...my eldest daughter JIllian was accepted into Veterinary school at Auburn University. She started classes a few weeks ago!
For those of you who know me, you know how proud I am of my daughter and son in law, both of them are graduates of West Point, USMA and they are lovely, grounded people who live their lives with integrity.

That is so awesome, Cat! Congrats to both her and you (since you're her mom, of course it reflects on you!) on a fantastic accomplishment. Looks like each of the Cat-offspring are following in mom's footsteps in becoming successful people - inside and out.
PS - soooo nice to see you back here, kiddo! Don't be a stranger.

it is so wonderful to see another young person devote their lives to the well being of our brothers and sisters who cannot speak for themselves. That's just great Cat. I too hope to one day maybe get my DVM and work with primates, esp. Great Apes. I've been banned from boards for standing up for animals. Some body builders eating horse meat, etc, other just atrocious things, so cruel and heartless towards God's Creation. That your daughter has that love that is so special towards all God's creatures, great and small, is so wonderful. I had the pleasure of working at one of the world's largest and most comprehensive animal hospitals in NYC, The Animal Medical Center. I learned so much. There's going to be some emotional pain for her, it takes getting used to seeing them suffer, and typically when interning one person on a given day is "Dr. Death" and does all the euth. At least that's how they did it at the AMC. Then we'd take that intern out to get stone cold drunk LOL. But it was hard. I've held the paw of many a pet who has gone on to Rainbow Bridge and waits for us there. Anyways, this is great news. You gotta have steel in your bones to be able to treat animals. God bless

Do you have pets Cat? Does your daughter? If it's the Auburn U in upstate NY that's where I live and your daughter HAS to go to Lolly Pop Farm. It's just amazing there! They rehab farm animals and even deer! There's bunny hutches, sheep, llama's, goats, lots of horses, and then inside is your standard dogs and cats and other smaller animals. Love that place!

Hey Kit-Cat does your daughter have any idea what area of vet medicine she wants to go in? I myself have had fun working with large farm animals, llama's, horses, milk cows, etc. Across from my gym there's a small petting zoo for the fall. The kids love it, it's a gardening store but the owners have a huge farm. I met the cutest!!!!! baby cow today and she was SO demanding when she saw us cuz she hadn't been fed yet! So we're trying to pet her and she's sucking on our hands hoping they're udders! She just kept up mooing she wanted her breakfast dammit! They had a mama goat who just had a baby and talk about adorable. They have a few hens who were passed out, and a mallard and his mate. Kids must have named all these animals cuz all their names were hysterical. The ducks were named Seth and Scott LOL when obviously it was a female and male! Tomorrow I'll go armed with cut up apples so she won't yell at us!

that's awesome Cat, I wish her the best! My daughter contemplated Vet school but then found out part of the job is having to euthanize and she could not bare it. She loves animals too much! lol Then again she is only 14 so now she is on the path for Forensic Science. Guess she wants to follow me
