I am wondering what is good general guideline for how long someone should train or do PRRS for before cycling FDFS? I have been training about 2 yrs, I am in my 3rd cycle of PRRS and wanted to throw 2 weeks of FDFS on the end of the PRRS prior to taking a weeks lay off. Any opinions are appreciated. (most especially mr. Broser)

I'm the only client of his who does 2 weeks of FD/FS in a row, Eric himself only does one week so likely you would only do one week. I'm just a beast, kinda a psycho warrior physiological anomaly. I have a disorder that is horrible but the perks are I can do and take some serious damage to my body and benefit from it. I do NOT recommend anyone starting FD/FS until they've done advanced PRRS for at least a year. For real dude, the amount of recovery needed after 2 weeks of FD/FS THEN doing a power week (my usual schedule) is EXHAUSTING. You gotta be able to really have a lifestyle that lets you rest and rest and rest. Remember, we don't grow muscle in the gym, it's after the work outs are done that we repair and grow. If you're overloading your CNS you won't affect change in your body.

If you're overloading your CNS you won't affect change in your body. Eric's going to be proud of your advice Wow, that is really nice of you to say. I know I'm the only woman (except when Keets shows up) so that right there may make guys wary to listen to my advice. I've been lifting/training/beating myself up for 11 years now. Hell, I even learned the basics of Samurai lol. I was a personal trainer for professional athletes and some celebrities in NYC on Madison, and you had to know your stuff cuz these people don't take less than your best. But I've "synced" up with Eric's science and it makes sense to me so I try to pass it on. Rome just wasn't built in a day and a couple of the noobs haven't given basic PRRS enough time to work it's magic before wanting to jump the gun and go all out doing FD/FS and then end up in traction for a year lol. Myself? Even when I'm dying I ask Eric to ramp up my intensity because he knows, being disabled as I am, I have lots of time to recover. I come home after 2 weeks of hell and shove a ton of protein down my gob and then pass out for 5 hours. I don't even have it in me to take a shower! Foul I know! Eric himself takes a nap immediately following an FD/FS work out. There's all sorts of proverbs that tell us that patience is a virtue, slow and steady wins the race, etc etc. And it's true. The human body can only handle so much at certain points, you gotta let it grow, repair, grow, repair, and that process takes a whole lotta time. I've made the mistake of pushing myself too much and reaped the negatives of it, so I guess now that I'm older and wiser I can say these things with confidence. I was full on Miss Overtrained for a very long time. I wore the crown! And trust me all you guys, ugh, avoid it at all costs. I even got freaking mono for 9 months!!!! In any sport, the pro's will tell you, stick to the basics before getting fancy. It all comes back to the basics. Keep it simple and enjoy the changes your body makes instead of slowing the process by overdoing it. That's my .422345643 cents! lol

Excellent excellent!! Thankyou for not only replying downbutnotout, but taking the time to giving vital info. You are SO very welcome. Get to know your body, all the ligaments, tendons, muscle groups, and the fascia that covers it all. Try to look at pics of cadavers. I know I know that's foul but it REALLY helps you get to know what you look like under that skin!

I have seen the videos of the man that wears the funny hat and cuts up cadavers. Showing what the muscles/tendons/ligaments/fascia actually look like under the skin. I think he is a German guy. He cuts the CNS from the spinal column and hangs it up. Intresting videos.

Actually speaking of blood and guts I put Dorian Yates blood and guts video on my iPhone the other day and have been watching the segments of bodyparts prior to actually training them myself. Best vid ever!!! "Let's get Nasty!!"
