Is there any members (hope I'm not the only one) finding 8-10 working sets for large muscle groups and 5-7 for smaller ones a little much? After getting into some Dorian Yates research over the past few mths I lowered my volume to 6-8 work sets for large muscles (back, quads, chest) and about 4 for biceps, hams, calves. Triceps I usually hit with about 5-6 sets. This week I upped the volume from 2 worksets per exercise back to 3. My workouts haven't been as intense and I have been alot more drained. Aswell as joints feeling more sore and doms are increased to a more "raw" feel. I feel I was getting bigger and stronger with the 2 sets so I think I'll stick with that and see how I go. I feel lower volume prevents you from "pacing" yourself. Less volume = more intensity = more weight + reps = greater overload. Well that's one school of thought. Any other members prefer that kind of HIT
