my gym doesnt have a set of dumbbells that are heavier than 100 lbs (which i need to move up in now). So for chest day on POWER week, I dont have many options it seems...i can just switch to BB bench obviously for first exercise, but i dont have a spotter...so for me i have always pushed to the point where the bar would almost fall on my neck, and going heavy on a smith machine hurts my wrist but i could always try that. so
Would using a hammer strength machine instead of Flat DB press be ok? or perhaps anyone have a better idea?
thanks

As long as you are in the rep range you want to be in, I think the Smith Machine works well (get someone to help lift the bar and rerack to help with the wrist situation) & the Hammer press machines work really well.

^Agreed with ^^^
I have to ask- I assume you are adhering to the rep rate? Keeping the negatives slow? I've seen a number of folks here say they weren't- it's a temporary fix to your issue, of course... but the difference between a 4-5 second negative versus 1-0-1 is significant.

Anyone here ever do good old fashioned pushups? With the hand bars so you can get a better ROM? Maybe weighted with a plate on your back? That's how I used to do them when I got a book on how they train Navy Seals and I was determined to get women in the SEAL program lol.

You could also buy a heavy duty pair of dumbbell handles.
