ABC just did a piece on 13 high school football players who were admitted to the hospital for compartment syndrome, a condition where swelling muscles are compressed by the fascia, begin to deteriorate, and emit toxins into the blood.
"Doctors are investigating whether muscle-building supplements like creatine, common among high school athletes, helped lead to this," the report stated. It ended with a warning to parents about the "possible dangers" of unregulated supplements. "Compartment syndrome is often linked to creatine," the accompanying text on the ABC News website said.

This is like a surreal sketch comedy showcase for the Monty Python troupe.... it seems like everywhere I look there it is not a bird nor a plane, oh ya' look its THOSE fun loving critics and they can almost leap a small supplement warehouse in a single bound!
Sure I get it news sells but at what cost for people who actually find good use of the supplements? Those hypocritical a**holes will always find something wrong with the supplement industry. I can envision it now "breaking news here at the desk of Pinay Iskandalo - we take them everyday our vitamins but are they now being considered to be found containing illegal anabolic agents, so lets go ahead and BAN THOSE well we're at it too!."LOL
It sounds more like to me that what happen to these high school football players had more to do with the fact they all were involved in an "immersion camp" — a period of intense practice where athletes stay overnight at the school. Some of the training involved exercising in a 115 degree wrestling room. The last thing we need to do is make accusations of staff incompetence.... while basking in the ambiance of bulls*** lies! I mean come on newscaster people give me a break here before my muscles start to swell up to epic proportions.
You know what I find most interesting about this funky-mumbo JUMBO is the players who were stricken with the symptoms said they hadn't taken any supplements.... Go figure, I mean honestly that would be like way too much of a logical deduction for anyone to assume it may of not been from a reaction to a supplement (in this case placebo or imaginary supplement.) I totally understand that some people react differently to certain supplements, but I think its probably fairly safe to say here folks that creatine it has been meticulously researched and undoubtedly quantified to actually be well documented and proven to be completely safe and work. The statistics out way the questionable tone of these uniformed over analytical minds. Lets face it these SAME people they get paid to bring you the news, so that is all that matters to them. We all know the truth about creatine if its really something so bad for our health then exactly why are there are so many people uing it, literally thousands and growing athletes worldwide continue to use it every year, and there are many papers showing even an anti-cancer effect of creatine, does this sound bad to you? Unlike those fact filled tv infomercials constantly broadcasting for our late night viewing pleasure about all the truly remarkable benefits of using supplements, lets not forget to take our ginkgo biloba which everyone keeps reminding me that I should be taking more of....lol
In my opinion creatine (AAEFX kre-alkaline, but of course!) is absolutely by far the most useful aid for stimulating muscular growth and energy production I have ever used. If you have a minute go ahead and click the link above and let me know what everyone thinks about it?
