Anyone on here eat Bison? I just learned today it's very lean, and of course farm grown, which I support, all my meat is free range. Just wondering if anyone here uses it. It seems like it would be a good mass builder.

Do you have to cook it like hamburger meat? I buy the bison burgers and cook them just like regular burgers, although perhaps for a bit less time in order to keep them juicy...as they are leaner than red meat. For me they seem to replace red meat pretty well while dieting.

Gonna get some today and try them out. I gotta say I do like the fact that they are grass fed/roaming on a farm instead of cramped to death in horrible conditions in a factory farm. They at least get to reproduce naturally.

Well I got enough Bison for a few days to make sure i like it, and we seasoned it and made patties out of it and I gotta say I really liked it. It's for sure very lean, has a much different taste than steak, it tastes almost, I dunno, more pure or something. Like I can tell the animal was grass fed. Dunno maybe it was in my head but it definitely seemed like a "cleaner" meat. You know what I'm talking about? Grass fed is the way to go.

The fat in beef is what gives it a different flavor from bison. It is similar to deer meat, in that it has a lower fat content.

Well I won't eat deer, I've gotten too close to some on a personal level, never met a bison but I'm sure if I got to know one I'd probably stop eating them too lol. It's very hard for me to eat meat that's why I can at least make sure everything I get is free range. Least I can do. I'm glad there's less fat, as I need to start bringing calories down slowly over the next couple months.

We have a farmi in town. They sell the meat right there. All grass and hay fed.

I grew up with milk cows that were able to graze and roam instead of being stuck in tiny cages like factory farms have them. They weren't given hormones, etc. and were able to reproduce naturally. Ugh they put so much junk in factory farmed animals.

I've gotten to know some, and their disposition is so calming and serene and spiritual. I know that sounds kooky, but I'm all for animal rights, and deer are just so kind and REALLY smart. I was traumatized as a child seeing so many gutted does, I lived on a farm. I was just about 5 years old when I decided I would stand for animal rights. I believe the Native American approach to hunting is the only way to go. Too many jerks getting drunk on Bud and having a rowdy fun time torturing a sentient being. I've seen it too often. That's my soap box. Off it now lol.
