I like to start a new journal to keep myself accountable every time I start a new phase. I find that as I progress into this sport that I have grown to love the more and more I want to get out of it. I remember 4 years ago prepping for my fist show, thinking that I had no business entering, but I didn't care, I just loved the new challenge. As it turned out that show was the single most gratifying sports.... no more like experience of my life. Walking off the stage I had more belief in myself than I had ever before had. It made me realize that no matter what you do, if you are patient and disciplined and have the desire to give it your all, great things will come your way. So here I am, (19 months ago I hadn't put in a full weeks worth of workouts in 3.5 years) back in the gym 19 consecutive months and back to where I was 4 years ago, or even a bit better, more focused than ever with the drive to be the best I can be....(I was at the EFX booth at this years Mr Olympia talking to coach Eric Broser and asked him how I could get my hands on one of those Natural Freak Jackets that the team was wearing, he told me that I would get one as soon as I won an overall show earning my pro card)....so it's time to begin the next phase of my training, EARNING MY JACKET!

Yesterdays workout was another good one, not quite as insane as the last couple have been but still good. I think it was mainly due to the fact that I let Lee, a buddy of mine, train with me for the last time! lol. Seriously though I've said it before and i'll say it again. If you don't want to match my level of intensity then don't ask to train with me. I will not sacrifice my workout to chat it up with you or talk about something other than more reps or weight. Period. Needless to say I sent him on his way halfway through! Here's how the workout went:
mini chest/ARMS-
SMITH BENCH PRESS TO UPPER CHEST...275 X 10, 315 X 5, DROP SET 275 X 7 DROP 225 X 7
BB CURLS...95 X 10, 105 X 7, 95 X 8 SINGLE ARM 90 DEGREE PREACHER...35 X 12, 12 EZ BAR REVERSE CURLS...75 X 10, 10 SS:HIGH CABLE DOUBLE BICEPS/ROPE CABLE CURLS...1 X 15/15 CG SMITH PRESS...225 X 10, 245 X 8, 10 INCLINE EZ BAR EXTENSION...95 X 12, 12 SINGLE ARM UNDERHAND PRESSDOWN...2 X 20 BENCH DIPS...2 X 16-20 FOREARMS...4 X MISC CABLE CRUNCH...2 X 15 HANGING STRAIGHT LEG RAISE....2 X 20

Just finished my leg workout and feel great...but a little nauseous! Real quick rundown.... QUADS/CALVES- -SINGLE LEG LEG PRESS...4 X 10-12 -BB SQUATS...1 X 15, 2 X 10-12, 1 X 7-9, 1 X 15 -WALKING LUNGES...2 X 12 EACH LEG -SINGLE LEG EXTENSION...2 X 12 EACH -LEG EXTENSION...1 X MAX -CALVES...5 X MISC DONE POOL FOR ME

Had another great workout today and finally started something I've been trying to get going forever, a video blog of my workouts and life in the poker world. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it going, will post more as it develops. Here's my workout today:
CHEST/ABS-

Ended up training later than normal today which allowed me to get some things done that I had been putting off for waaay too long. Workout was great! Feeling very strong.... tired though so i'll post it tomorrow. night

Today has been a great off day, got a lot of things done and rest has been nice...but the diet has been a bit off, although still clean foods (i almost always eat clean) but more than I would hope to eat while trying to cut so I'm going to go downstairs and get after some HIIT cardio. Yesterdays workout went great here's how it looked:

Missed recording a couple workouts but I didn't miss any workouts that's for sure! I had to restructure my legs' day until today because of my softball game that left me so sore I couldn't walk!! Lol its been so long since I sprinted that my body was not having it... Hit it hard today, start of a new week tomorrow and i'll get back to posting my workouts. That's it for now.
