You change your workouts in prrs every week but is it a good idea for doing this for your cardio after your weight training
power week : 30 min mid hart rate rep range week : hiit shock week : 30 min low hart rate
I wondering if this is also interesting for changing this???

I've always found the best cardio is the cardio I'll actually do.

I've never been a sprinter- I'm a distance guy... so I hate intervals and sprints... so I usually keep the heartrate more in the fat burning range. When I'm needing to do more cardio I set the treadmill at a steep angle and go longer... and then finally add it to mornings, fasted...
Cardio has been the least consistent part of my workout. I need to be better about pushing it.
There's nothing wrong with mixing it up as you suggest- but you'll find 1000 opinions on 1000 ways that are best.

thanks for the feedback fit.
I think it is not good to do after every workout 30 min intensive cardio (75% of Maxim hart rate) I'm going to start with cardio in the fat burning range.
To bad there's no more feedback of the other guru's

I think it's GREAT to change up your cardio, however I would do it day to day depending on your split and when legs are.
I was doing HIIT on Saturdays, Sundays, & Thursdays for a while during prep and the other days were LISS. During HIIT I would do about 15-20 minutes of HIIT and follow it with LISS. When I do LISS though I keep my HR around 130-140 BPM.
I think mixing it is the best way to keep the body burning fat and the metabolism revved up.

I agree they say 10-20 minutes HIT cardio raises the secretion of hormones known to stimulate the breakdown of fat epinephrine and norepinephrine. Follow it with 30-40 minutes of moderate intensity and tour burning pure fat! Another thing I'm trying and like it so far is active rest in between sets especially on power week where I get on a stationary bike and do lo intensity cardio 30-40% of your v02max. I've noticed improvements on my lifts and recovery as well has any one else tried this?

Do you do the 10-20 mins HIIT followed by LSD cardio only pre contest or year round. I have doing LSD cardio fasted in the AM for quite a few mths while gaining lean mass. Seems to do the job. Plus it's enjoyable.

I finally solved my loathing of cardio. I got this little machine that is like a stepper/elliptical for your lower body, fits anywhere in the house it's only about 40 lbs, you hold hand weights while you're on it, park it in front of the television, I turn the knob up to the highest resistance, and go for it. OWWWWWW yeah it works!

Plus it's enjoyable. Notice I said HIT not HIIT meaning just a quick 10 minute high intensity session followed by a LSD session te HIIT will probably work but the study specifically said HIT. I use it year round but I only do it once or 2 a week off season maybe 3 if I have a busy eating schedule. Then I'll do one HIIT session away fom my leg day

Thx Zack. LSD stands for long slow duration rantorcha. Yet to try the other LSD and cardio, I'll keep you posted if I do. Haha.
